14th-ranked Tigers Put 16-game Win Streak on Line at Centre

mathews030808.jpgFebruary 12, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. —  DePauw, ranked 14th in both national polls, goes after its 17th straight win when it travels to Centre College on Saturday, February 14. Tipoff for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game from Alumni Gymnasium in Danville, Ky., is set for 3 p.m.

DePauw enters the contest with a 19-3 overall record and a 10-1 conference mark and is ranked first in the Great Lakes Region in this season's first set of rankings released yesterday by the NCAA.

Coming off last Sunday's 86-75 win at Rhodes, the Tigers have won 16 straight after starting the season with a 3-3 mark. Centre is 15-7 overall and 8-3 in conference play after losing by a 76-75 score at Birmingham-Southern last Sunday. The Colonels have won 11 of their last 14 games.

DePauw won the January 4 meeting between the two schools by a 65-48 score.
