Three Tigers Named to All-SCAC Team; Pruzin Repeats First Team Honor

February 28, 2009, Conway, Ark. — Three DePauw players earned women's basketball all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors in voting by the conference's 11 head coaches. The announcement was made at halftime of today's second SCAC semifinal game.
Senior guard Cassie Pruzin (pictured) earned her second straight first team selection after garnering honorable mention as a sophomore. She picked up 124 total points including one first-place vote.
Pruzin entered the SCAC tournament averaging team highs of 12.5 points (15th in the SCAC) and 4.8 assists (2nd) per game.
She also averaged 2.1 steals (8th) per game while shooting 37.4 percent from the three-point line (8th) and 84.1 percent from the charity stripe (4th), including 14.0 points, 4.9 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game in conference games. Pruzin entered the tournament ranked fourth in school history with 1,290 career points.
Junior forward Emily Marshall and sophomore guard Katie Mathews each were named to the third team for the first all-SCAC honors in their respective careers. Marshall entered the tournament averaging 9.0 points and team highs of 8.7 rebounds per game and 52.3 percent field goal shooting. Mathews was second on the team with 9.4 points per game and 3.7 assists per outing.
