Aldrich Posts Career-High Double-Double in Tigers' Win over Oglethorpe

January 10, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Katie Aldrich established career highs with 23 points and 13 rebounds and led DePauw to an 84-51 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over visiting Oglethorpe.
DePauw improved to 11-3 overall and 4-1 in the SCAC with the win, while the Stormy Petrels dropped to 7-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The win was DePauw's 44th straight overall home win and 61st consecutive in the regular season (excluding NCAA postseason). It also marked the Tigers' 49th straight home SCAC victory.
With the game tied at 3-3, DePauw scored the next 11 and led by as many as 25 on the way to a 49-26 halftime lead. The Tigers never trailed in the contest.
Aldrich's (pictured) career highs came in 23 minutes on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor. Brooke Osborne followed with 11 points and hit three three-pointers while Emily Marshall added 10 points and grabbed eight offensive rebounds.
Riley Cerone paced Oglethorpe with 13 points and Kaci Palmore hauled down 11 rebounds.
Oglethorpe outshot DePauw 42.2-40.2 percent, but the Tigers committed just 10 turnovers to the Stormy Petrels' 27. DePauw, the nation's leader in rebound margin, held a 49-26 edge on the boards and snagged 31 offensive rebounds. The Tigers held a 32-4 advantage in second-chance points and a 34-7 margin in points off turnovers.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, January 15, at Hendrix while Oglethorpe visits Trinity on the same evening.
