Ellis Earns SCAC Weekly Honors

Ellis_Meredith_2007_FH.jpgOctober 22, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw senior Meredith Ellis has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week for matches played October 13-19.

Ellis held the middle of the field for the Tigers and helped in the two, 3-0 shutout wins over Saint Vincent and Wooster. The Tigers' defense gave up only 7 shots and 4 corners in two games this weekend and were the first opponent in 2008 to shut out Wooster. Ellis also scored the game-winner for the Tigers on Friday against St. Vincent.

DePauw, 10-2 overall and 4-1 in the SCAC, puts its five-game win streal on the line when it returns to SCAC play on Friday at Hendrix.
