Five Tigers Named to All-SCAC Team; Riffle and Trainor Share Top Honors

November 19, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. -Five DePauw players were named to the all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference field hockey team in voting by the conference's five head coaches and two shared top honors. The complete team is available here.
Junior forward Sarah Riffle (left) was named the co-Offensive Player of the Year along with Sewanee's Lynn Hancock. Riffle led the Tigers with 15 goals and 32 points. She's the first DePauw player since Allison Baccich in 2006 to earn the distinction
Freshman forward Kimberly Trainor (right) shared the SCAC Newcomer of the Year honor with Centre's Patty Cowley. Trainor scored four goals and added three assists in her rookie campaign with the Tigers and is the first DePauw player to earn the award in the five-year history of conference play.
Joining Riffle on the all-SCAC team are senior midfielder Meredith Ellis, senior forward Carolyn Mueller, junior defender Becca Rojek and senior midfielder Beth Seegers.
Ellis' honor was the third of her career as she made the team in both 2005 and 2006, while Mueller and Rojek each earned all-SCAC accolades in 2007.
DePauw finished with a 14-4 overall record including a 6-2 SCAC mark. The Tigers finished third at the SCAC Championship.
