Four Tigers Named to All-Region Teams

elliis_meredith_2008fh.jpgNovember 19, 2008, Greencastle, Ind. -Four DePauw players have been selected to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III All-Great Lakes Region Team. The complete team is available here.

Senior midfielders Meredith Ellis (left) and Beth Seegers (below) along with junior forward Sarah Riffle were first team selections, while senior forward Carolyn Mueller was a second team choice.

seegers_beth_2008fh.jpgEllis scored seven goals and assisted on two others, while Seegers totaled 10 goals and two assists.

Riffle was the team leader with 15 goals along with a pair of assists and Mueller finished with nine goals and a team-high six assists.

All four earned all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honors, while Mueller was also a first team all-region selection in 2007 and Ellis was a second team pick in 2006. 

The Tigers finished the season with a 14-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in SCAC games. DePauw placed third at the season-ending SCAC Championship.
