Top-Seed Rhodes Advances to SCAC Championship Game with Semifinal Win

November 6, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — Top-seeded Rhodes College advanced to the finals of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Saturday with a 2-0 victory over fifth-seeded Hendrix in the semifinal round.
The Lynx improved to 16-1 with the win and advanced to the conference finals for the second straight year. Rhodes will face the winner of the semifinal contest between third-seeded Centre and No. 2 seed DePauw. Meanwhile, Hendrix wrapped up its 2010 campaign at 6-10.
Taylor Mills gave Rhodes a 1-0 lead at 19:05 in the first half on an unassisted goal. The Lynx extended that lead in the second half, as Sarah Kennedy scored on an assist from Lindsey Gurkovich.
Rhodes held a 15-7 advantage in shots, putting 12 shots on goal during the contest. Hendrix tallied nine corners, while the Lynx had eight.
