Ellis Earns SCAC Weekly Honors

85753October 11, 2010, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw sophomore forward Margaret Ellis has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Co-Offensive Player of the Week for October 4-10. She shared the honor with Lindsey Gurkovich of Rhodes.

Ellis' two first half goals guided DePauw to victory Saturday over visiting Sewanee. Her first goal came just six minutes into the contest and she added the game-winner with six minutes remaining in the first half.

The Tiger offense generated 26 shots and 14 corners on the day. With her goals this weekend, Ellis has tied the single-season record for goals scored, and currently leads the conference with 16 on the year.
