Record-setting performances result in second straight title

Jessica Schneider finished second with the best single and two-round total in school history.

The Tigers shot a school-record 609 with the two best rounds in school history at 301 and 308 to win the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic for the second straight year. DePauw finished three strokes ahead of Division II Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and 12 strokes ahead of the closest Division III school.

 

Jessica Schneider, who was the medalist last week at Southern Indiana, finished second with a DePauw-record 145 including a school record 71 in the first round. Schneider was one over for the tournament and finished one stroke behind Amy Wenning of the University of Indianapolis.

 

Sarah Gates tied for 12th with a 154 followed by Lindsay Amore who tied for 19th with a 156. Deborah Garriott shot a 157 to tie for 26th, while Lauren Brummett was tied for 33rd at 159 and Lisa Chambers was tied for 40th with a 161.

 

The Tigers host the DePauw Fall Invitational at Rolling Meadows in Gosport, Ind., on September 28-29.
