Ninth-Ranked Tigers in 11th after Cardinal Classic First Round

September 19, 2009, Muncie, Ind. —  Kelly Gaughan shot an opening-round 76 to lead DePauw to 11th place at the midway point of Ball State's Cardinal Classic.

Gaughan's score is tied for 18th, while Erin Kielty is tied for 36th with a 79. Sam Stahler shot an 81 with Taylor Beaty next at 88 and Camila Romero rounding out DePauw's lineup with an 89. Ali Rifkin shot an 89 while playing as an individual. There's a three-way tie for the individual lead as Ball State's Kristtii Cain, Eastern Michigan's Darby Peters and Grand Valley State's Allie Tyler each shot 71.

As a team, the Tigers totaled 324, while Ball State leads with a 293 followed by Eastern Michigan at 298.
