#2 DePauw Women Lead Katman Klassic by Nine Strokes

April 9, 2011, Danville, Ind. — Second-ranked DePauw shot an opening-round 314 and leads the Katman Klassic by nine strokes over fifth-ranked Washington University and eighth-ranked Illinois Wesleyan. Wittenberg and Olivet, which are tied for 18th in the latest Division III Coaches' Poll, are fourth and fifth, respectively, in the standings.
DePauw's Taylor Beaty leads the individual field by four strokes after shooting a 74. DePauw's Kelly Gaughan is fourth with a 79, while Natalie Gough is tied for fifth with an 80. Camila Romero and Paige Gooch each shot 81 and are tied for 11th.
Playing as individuals, Sam Stahler shot an 84 and Kelsey Smith finished with an 87.
Second and final round play wraps up on Sunday at the Twin Bridges Golf Club.
