Beaty and Gaughan Second Among Division III Teams at Collegiate Golf Championships

8611686114August 3, 2011, Dahlonega, Ga. — DePauw's Taylor Beaty (far left) and Kelly Gaughan (near left) are competing at the Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship and are tied for 36th among the 55-team field at nine-under 153 after shooting a two-under, 70, on the second day at Achasta, By Reynolds.

Today's scores were calculated by best ball play and there was a three-way tie atop the leaderboard with teams from Vanderbilt, Virginia and Michigan State each at 11-under 133.

While the tournament field consists primarily of student-athletes from NCAA Division I institutions, the DePauw duo is second among the five teams from Division III schools and are six strokes behind Central College's team.

Beaty and Gaughan compete at last year's tournament and finished 44th overall and second among the Division III competition.

The tournament wraps up on Thursday.
