Tigers finish season at 19-18 after losses at Illinois Wesleyan
The Tigers dropped a doubleheader at Illinois Wesleyan by scores of 7-2 and 5-3 to finish the season at 19-18 for their third straight winning season. The host Titans blew the first game wide open in the sixth with four unearned runs on a grand slam. In the nightcap, DePauw fell behind 4-0 after four and their late- inning rally fell short.
DePauw sweeps Manchester; assured of winning record for third straight season
The host Tigers swept a doubleheader from Manchester to improve to 19-16 and assure themselves of a winning season for the third straight season. The Tigers won game one by a 4-1 score and the nightcap, 7-3. Chanda Najdek had two of the Tigers' seven hits in the first game, while Michelle Adcock had three and Jamie Anderson, Lyndi Chard and Leslie Oesterle added two each in the second contest. Freshman pitcher Darcy Vannatta picked up both victories.
Tigers sweep Wittenberg to move to 17-16
Strong pitching by Darcy Vannatta lifted the Tigers to a doubleheader sweep of Wittenberg. Vannatta allowed just one run in the two games as the Tigers won by scores of 2-0 and 3-1.
DePauw falls to Trinity in championship
The Tigers managed just two hits and Trinity scored once in the third and twice in the fourth to take a 3-0 win over the Tigers. The win gave Trinity the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title.
DePauw wins two; need to beat Trinity twice for SCAC title
The Tigers won two more games in the loser's bracket to advance to the finals of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. The Tigers beat Sewanee 4-1 and Rhodes 4-3 in eight innings to advance on Friday and must beat Trinity twice on Saturday to earn the SCAC title
Tigers split first two game in SCAC tournament
The Tigers opened the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship with a 4-3 loss to Rhodes, but rebounded with a 14-0 no-hit win over Centre.Nicole Johnson and Cassie Trueblood notched the no-hiiter for the Tigers. DePauw plays Sewanee on Fiday afternoon.
Tigers take three of four at SCAC Round-Robin to earn second seed
The Tigers defeated Centre, Sewanee and Rhodes and lost to Trinity to finish 3-1 at the SCAC Round Robin Tournament at Rhodes College and earn the number-two seed in the SCAC Championship in San Antonio on April 22-24.
Tigers sweep Thomas More to move to 8-8
After being shut out in each of their last three games of their spring trip, the Tigers responded with 29 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Thomas More College. The Tigers won the first game by a 13-0 score and took the nightcap, 16-2.
Tigers win three of first four in Florida
Competing at the Rebel Spring Games near Orlando, the Tiger women opened play by winning three of their first four games. The Tigers opened with a 6-5 win over Wilmington (Del.) and an 11-2 victory over Hartwick in the first day of play. They then came back with a 3-2 loss to Western Connecticut and a 9-8 win over Wisconsin-Superior.
Anderson sweeps Tigers
DePauw slipped to 2-2 on the season as they dropped both ends of a home doubleheader with Anderson University by scores of 9-2 and 8-0. They return to action on Sunday at the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Fla.
Tigers Open Season with Doubleheader Sweep; Vannatta Tosses No-Hitter in First Collegiate Game
The Tigers opened the 1999 season at home with a doubleheader originally scheduled for last Wednesday at Franklin. The Tigers won both against the Grizzlies by scores of 4-0 and 13-5. The first game featured a no-hitter by freshman Darcy Vannatta in her first collegiate game.
