Atlanta, Ga. - The DePauw University women's swimming team placed 27th at the NCAA Division III Championships at Emory University in Atlanta. The Tigers totaled 35.7 points for the three-day event. Kenyon won the team title with 560.5 points.

Individually, senior Katie Reis earned all-America honors for the fifth time as she placed seventh in the 200 back in 2:08.79.

DePauw's all-time leading point scorer finished eighth in the prelims in 2:07.00. Reis also finished 10th in the 100 back in 59.22 seconds and 21st in the 200 individual medley in 2:10.94. That time established a school record.

Sophomore Amy Beth Allen placed 15th in the 200 back in 2:08.27 to earn honorable mention all-America status. Allen also finished 20th in the 100 fly in 58.59 seconds and 29th in the 100 back in 1:01.71.

Senior Julie Culbertson was 22nd in the 200 breast in 2:26.87 and 24th in the 100 breast in 1:08.06.

Freshman Megan Davenport placed 21st in the 50 free in 24.61 seconds and 29th in the 100 free in 53.56 seconds.

The Tigers' 200 medley relay of Reis, Culbertson, Allen and Davenport earned honorable mention all-America honors after finishing in a three-way tie for ninth in 1:50.02. They swam a 1:49.37 in the prelims. The 200 free relay placed 22nd in 1:42.39.

"I thought it was a great end to a great season," head coach Mary Bretscher said.

"It was a really good way for Katie and Julie to finish their college careers."
