Bondi and Padda win ITA Division III title; Bondi advances to ITA Division III finals

October 13, 2006, Fort Myers, Fla. - DePauw's top-seeded doubles team of Liz Bondi and Amrita Padda won both of their Friday matches and captured the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Women's Doubles title.

They defeated the duo of Amanda Sta. Romana and Elizca Buys from Carthage 6-3, 2-6, 10-6 tiebreaker before defeating Sewanee's team of Laura Fanjoy and Gabriela Cavalho 6-2, 6-1.

Bondi and Padda advance to the ITA's Super Bowl of Tennis where they'll face the junior college champions Hiroko Nishikawa and Mizuho Nishimura of Hillsborough Community College. That semifinal match will take place on Saturday.

Bondi, the top-seeded singles player advanced to the singles final after defeating Carnegie Mellon's Amy Staloch in the semifinals by a 6-2, 6-1 score. She'll face Carvalho in Saturday's finals.
