#15 Women's Tennis Takes Two of Three Weekend Matches

February 27, 2011, Greencastle, Ind. —  The 15th-ranked women's tennis team opened the spring portion of the 2010-11 schedule with a 2-1 record.

The Tigers dropped a 7-2 decision to Grand Valley State, the 15th-ranked team in Division II, before defeating Luther, 5-4, and Oberlin 9-0.

Janelle Arita was the lone Tigers to go undefeated in the three matches after winning all three at the number one flight. She teamed with Kelly Gebert to post a 3-0 doubles mark.

The Tigers open play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Championships against Emory on Friday, March 4. The match at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., is set for 5 p.m.
