She joined the faculty at Butler University in August of 2008 and is currently Associate Professor of Psychology. Dr. Gingerich studies memory errors and the factors that contribute to them. Her research focuses on how factors such as mood and emotion can impact our ability to monitor accurately the contextual details of our memories. In addition, she is interested in ways to improve learning and metacognition. When she is not in the lab or in the classroom, Dr. Gingerich enjoys travelling, cooking, watching Ravens football, Orioles baseball, and college basketball, listening to live music, watching horror movies, riding her motorcycle, and visiting amusement parks. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Andrew, her dogs, Chester, Alice, and Annie, her cats, Clark, Rusty, and Audrey, and a backyard farm of chickens and rabbits.
