The International Space Station zooms past from 7:01 - 7:08 (NW to SE), followed by one Iridium flare at 7:09 and a second flare at 7:11;  look just South of Jupiter.  How bright?! 

ISS magnitude -3.2, 1st flare magnitude -7.8 and the 2nd flare magnitude -0.7.  Remember, the smaller the magnitude, the brighter the celestsial object :)

Astronomy Open House at McKim Observatory ~ in honor of Dr. Lisa Pratt's visit!  She's the spokesperson for NASA's Curiosity Project and Professor of Geological Sciences at IU!  Jupiter will be in full view, the moon will be rising in the east, and Orion is overhead!  

Clouds blocking the stars?!  Sorry, we'll have to cancel.  Cross your fingers for clear sky!
