Annual Truck Pull Championship of 2014

On behalf of the Wrestling Club (Total Nonstop Wrestling), we personally invite you to compete in our firstAnnual Truck Pull Championship of 2014, which will be held at 12:00 pm on April 5th. Teams will be challenged to pull a semi-truck or its equivalent in the least amount of time. As a result, College Street will be blocked off from Olive to Hanna Street. 

The money raised goes to the rebuilding of the square after the fire that displaces three domestic shops and they are struggling to stay open. Also the money goes to public accommodations for Greencastle around DePauw such as: Water fountains, Libraries, and the Square maintenance.

In  Messengers of Yesterday, photography professor Cynthia O’Dell explores the legacy of Ireland’s 1845-1852 famine, also known as An Gorta Mór (The Great Hunger), and the perpetual migration narrative that has shaped Ireland’s identity since that great trauma.

Persion Visions: Contemporary Photography from Iran

 In the first survey of contemporary Iranian photography to travel to the United States, Persian Visions features 20 artists who use the camera as a tool for cultural expression and self-exploration. Organized by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Minnesota Department of Art, this exhibition of 58 works introduces some of Iran's most celebrated photographers to American audiences.

Persian Visions was developed by Hamid Severi for the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Iran, and Gary Hallman of the Regis Center for Art, University of Minnesota and is toured by International Arts & Artists, Washington, D.C. 

 

This exhibition was made possible in part by the ILEX Foundation, University of Minnesota McKnight Arts and Humanities Endowment, and the Department of Art, Regis Center for Art, University of Minnesota.

Stalking dynamics and prevention with guest lecturer TK Logan

Guest speaker TK Logan with be discussing the dynamics of stalking, how it differs from other assualts, and strategies to handle it.  This includes a self defense portion that will be taught with DePauw's martial arts coordinator and self defense instructor Brandon Sieg.  The event will be part lecture and part hands on.  Space is limited to 20 people but is free and open to anyone on a first come, first serve basis.
