He has served on the faculties of The Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music and the Yale School of Music. Schwantner’s compositional career has been marked by many awards, grants, and fellowships, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1979 and several Grammy nominations. This concert will feature faculty and student performances of a wide range of Schwantner's works.This event is free and open to the public.

This recital hour features a performance and conversation with DePauw alumnus, oboist Ian Davidson. Dr. Davidson has appeared as soloist and chamber musician on six continents and is a founding member of the Wild Basin Winds. Recognized for outstanding contributions in teaching, service, and scholarly/creative activity, Dr. Davidson is also a Grammy nominee. He is currently Professor of Music at Texas State University.
