Organized by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Minnesota Department of Art, this exhibition of 58 works introduces some of Iran's most celebrated photographers to American audiences.

Persian Visions was developed by Hamid Severi for the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Iran, and Gary Hallman of the Regis Center for Art, University of Minnesota and is toured by International Arts & Artists, Washington, D.C.

From director/writer, Ryan Coogler, the purportedly true story of Oscar Grant III, a 22-year-old Bay Area resident on the last day of 2008, before his deadly encounter with the police. Released in 2013, starring Michael B. Jordan. Co-sponsored by Conflict Studies, AAAS, and The Janet Prindle Institute for Ethics. 

Post-film discussion will be held at the Emerson Room at the Inn at DePauw after the showing.  Representatives from AAAS, Conflict Studies, and Prindle Interns will be there. Moderated by Professor Karin Wimbley. Refreshments provided; free and open to the public.

In  Messengers of Yesterday, photography professor Cynthia O’Dell explores the legacy of Ireland’s 1845-1852 famine, also known as An Gorta Mór (The Great Hunger), and the perpetual migration narrative that has shaped Ireland’s identity since that great trauma.

Persian Visions: Contemporary Photography from Iran

Organized by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the University of Minnesota Department of Art, this exhibition of 58 works introduces some of Iran's most celebrated photographers to American audiences.
