SUMMARY:Percussion at Peeler
DESCRIPTION:In conjunction with the exhibition&nbspMind Space: Maximalism in Contrasts,&nbspthe DePauw Percussion Studio presents&nbspcontemporary solo and chamber works for percussion, composed and improvised, in a non-traditional concert setting.&nbsp This year's theme is music and culture of China, to co-ordinate with the contemporary Chinese art works in the exhibition. Music by Chen Yi, Yiu-kwong Chung, and Tan Dun will be included, as well as an improvisation inspired by Tan Dun's&nbspPaper Concerto, Water Concerto&nbspand&nbspEarth Concerto.&nbspThe performance will also include students from China presenting Tai Chi, poetry, calligraphy, and the erhu, a traditional Chinese instrument.&nbsp Please join us for a reception of Chinese food afterward.
