Chief Information Officer
Carol L. Smith is the Chief Information Officer at DePauw University, a position that she has held since 2008. Carol joined the DePauw community in 1994 and has been variously involved with information technology programs and initiatives at the university. Her current role as leader of Information Services is to ensure that effective, appropriate, and sustainable IT resources and services are available to enable all students, faculty members, and staff members of the DePauw community. Carol earned her undergraduate degree from DePauw (1985) and her master'Â¿s degree in instructional systems technology from Indiana University School of Education (2001). She is a faculty member for the EDUCAUSE Leadership Institute Program (2014-2016), is serving a second term as a member of the Consortium of Liberal Arts Colleges (CLAC) Board of Directors, was a member of the 2011 EDUCAUSE conference program committee, and has served on the board of directors of the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS). As well, Carol is a frequent presenter at conferences and active member of several professional organizations, including EDUCAUSE, CLAC, and the Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI).
