This form is used to search for the desired client's records. This form is navigated to by clicking on the Person Search link located at the top of the CIS window. Once the client's records have been selected from the search form, navigating to each of the forms will open that client's records.
- Complete one or more of the following fields:
- ID. Client's DePauw ID number.
Note: The ID number is mutually exclusive. This means that if the ID is entered, all other fields are ignored during the search.
- Last Name. Entering the client's last name will return a search of all audience type with the same last name. Entering the client's last and first names will return all audience type with the same first and last names.
Suggestion: Use the "%" wild card in the search for names that have commonality. For example "Smit%" will return all names that start with Smit (Smit, Smiter, Smith, Smither, etc.).
- First Name. Entering the client's first name will return a search of all audience type with the same first name. Entering the clients last and first names will return all audience type with the same first and last names.
- Email. Client's email address.
Note: The email address is mutually exclusive. This means that if the email address is entered, all other fields are ignored during the search.
- Phone. Client's phone number.
Note: The phone number is mutually exclusive. This means that if the phone number is entered, all other fields are ignored during the search.
- Select the following:
- Audience. Select the desired audience from the drop-down menu. The available audiences will be dependent upon your login.
- Select either of the following buttons:
- Reset Button. The Reset button will clear all of the fields and allow for re-entry of information. If a selection is highlighted on a Please Select a Person frame, the Reset button will clear the highlight allowing for making another selection.
- Next Button. If a mutually exclusive value was added, or only one return is given, the Person form will open for the selected client. If more than one return is present, a Please Select a Person frame will appear. Making a selection on this frame and clicking on the Next button will open the selected client's Person form.
- Back Button. The Back button is only active when a search has been made and there is more than one return. If the client is not one of the returns, clicking on the Back button will return the form to the initial page showing the submitted search criteria. Try other search criteria to find the desired client.
- Please Select a Person. The Please Select a Person frame shows when a search returns more than one name. The Last Name, First Name, DPU ID#, City, State and Entrance Term is listed for each return. Clicking on the desired return will highlight the selection.
- Add A New Record. The Add a New Record link will be available with the Please Select a Person frame. Clicking on the Add a New Record link will close the Person Search form and open a new Person form.
