System Registry Key Form

The SysReg Key form is used to add a new Key. Values of the Key are not set using this form. Only the Key itself is created. The owner of the Key will be determined using this form.

Attention: This is to be accomplished by developers only.

 

Navigating to

The SysReg Key form is navigated to from the SysReg Main Menu. The System Registry Keys (Add Key) link is located in the left column towards the top of the page. Clicking on this link will open the SysReg Key form.

 

Add Information

    1. ID Number. This record ID number is automatically generated.


    2. Parent ID. Enter the ID number of the parent Key. Click on the View Keys link to open a Standard Communication LOV. This LOV will show the Keys ID numbers. Click through the Key Tree to find the ID of the parent Key of the new Key you are creating. Enter this ID number in the Parent ID field.


    3. Key Name. Enter a Descriptive title for the Key.


    4. Key Type. Enter "System" for keys that only developers can edit the key's Name/Value Pair. Enter "User" for keys that anyone, with credentials to view the key, can edit the key's Name/Value Pair.


    5. Group Owner. Enter which department owns this key (ex; ADM, REG, SYS, etc.).


    6. Data Expiration Date. If applicable, enter the date that this key will no longer be valid.


    7. Add Record. Clicking on this button will add the record to the database and close out the form.


    8. Don't Save. Clicking on this button will close out the form. Any information entered in the form will be lost. The previous page will be displayed.
