2005 All-Campus Student Art Exhibit
Special Events
Eligibility
- Any student currently enrolled at DePauw University may enter.
- Work must have been completed within the last 3 years and not previously exhibited in or submitted to a DPU All-Campus Student Art Show. Artwork completed in high school is ineligible.
- Each student may enter a maximum limit of 4 artworks in any medium. A series will count as an individual artwork, but must have been conceived as one piece to be considered a series. If the series has more than 4 components, please see Christopher Lynn, Assistant Curator, x4884.
- All work must be original in concept. The work must have been conceived wholly by the person in whose name it is submitted.
Presentation
- All work must be presented in a manner suitable for hanging or display---matted and/or framed, and wired for hanging. Please provide special installation instructions if needed. Poorly presented works will be rejected. No wet paintings will be accepted. No exceptions!
- All entries must be identified with the appropriate form provided on this prospectus. Attach a form to the back of each work.
Entry Form and Fee
A $5 non-refundable fee must accompany a carefully and fully completed entry form. The fee covers up to 4 artworks per student. Make checks payable to DePauw University. Additional entry forms are available in the Art Department secretary’s office, Room 100.
Conditions
- Any piece accepted for exhibition must remain on display for the duration of the show. No Exceptions!
- Late entries will not be accepted. To be fair to all participants, no extensions will be granted.
- Unaccepted work must be picked up on November 14th and 15th between 9 am and 4 pm. Accepted work must be picked up Dec. 11-16, between 9 am and 4 pm.
- Accepted, unclaimed work and unaccepted, unclaimed work will be discarded after 4pm December 16th.
Awards
Monetary prizes will be distributed at the discretion of the juror. Awards will be offered on the basis of artistic merit.
Insurance
DePauw University will insure all work submitted to the Peeler Art Center from the time it is delivered for jurying on November 3, until 4 pm December 16.
Juror
This year’s juror is Katrin Asbury, Visiting Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the Herron School of Art, Indianapolis.
Calendar of Events
- October 11 and 13:
- 4 pm - 5 pm Assistant Curator, Christopher Lynn, will lead a workshop on the proper display methods for artwork submitted to the exhibition. Plan to attend one of the two evenings. A handout will be available at the workshops as well as online at: www.depauw.edu/galleries/2005/all_campus
- November 3:
- All entries are due on this date (not before, not after) at the Art Center between 9 am - 4 pm
- November 10:
- Work is juried
- November 14 and 15:
- Pick up unaccepted work between 9am – 4pm
- November 17:
- 6 - 8 pm, Opening reception and awards presentation December 11: Show closes
- December 12-16:
- Pick up all work between 9am-4 pm If you cannot pick up your work personally, please arrange to have someone do so. Work left after the 16th will be considered abandoned and will be discarded.
Agreement
Submission of artwork to this exhibition shall be understood to indicate an agreement on the part of the entrant to all conditions set forth in this prospectus. Each entrant must sign the following entry form.
