Academic Standing Committee

  1. Function. This committee shall consider all matters affecting academic classification and academic standing of students. It oversees the application of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) criteria and actions (warning, probation and suspension) and reviews appeals and readmission applications from students suspended for failing to meet these criteria. It shall report periodically to the Committee on Management of Academic Operations.

  2. Membership. One representative from Academic Affairs (to be appointed by the Vice President for Academic Affairs), one representative from Student Life (to be appointed by the Vice President for Student Life), one representative from Financial Aid, the Dean of the School of Music (for music students only), the Registrar, and four elected faculty members, one from each division. Non-Voting Members: Associate Registrar. The Associate Registrar convenes meeting and manages committee business.
