roducer, INNOVATIVE, Indianapolis, IN
"I'm a producer at a hybrid corporate advertising company. I produce projects ranging from building websites to preparing print and video elements for corporate events. Its an amazing job, which allows me to do everything I hoped to be doing after graduation and keeps me learning and on my toes every single day. I never would have been prepared for this position if it hadn't been for all of the experiences I had through Media Fellows! I can't thank you enough!" Angie Hamilton-Lowe '00
Operations Coordinator , NPR West, Los Angeles, CA
After graduating as a Media Fellow in 2000, Angie moved to New York City and paid her student loans by attempting a career in Entertainment PR. But September 11th, 2001 made her reassess her priorities. By the fall of the next year, she was studying Public Communications in a Master of Arts program at Fordham University. There, she returned to her first love - a love of radio that sprung at WGRE as an overnight DJ her freshman year. She was hired as a producer for a morning-drive program on WFUV-FM and earned an Edward R. Murrow Award for Subculture, an audio documentary celebrating the centennial of the New York City Subway. However, life on the other coast called, and Angie moved to Los Angeles to work on nationally-distributed public radio programs such as Marketplace and The Tavis Smiley Show. She is now the Operations Coordinator for NPR West, managing technical logistics for Morning Edition, Day to Day, and News & Notes. She is married to fellow DePauw alum Daniel Hamilton-Lowe, who is an Assistant Director on the television drama C.S.I. (Pictured, Angie with two co-workers at NPR). |
