Kali Geldis

Kali Geldis took her interest in politics to a unique internship with the Barack Obama Presidential Campaign during her second semester junior year, working in the Obama campaign offices in Iowa, Nevada, Colorado, Ohio and Indiana as a field organizer and new media intern.  In these positions, she fulfilled a multitude of responsibilities, including, but not limited to, making political phone calls, holding caucus education sessions, organizing a voter registration drive and working on Obama facebook, MySpace, MiGente and BlackPlanet profiles.

Geldis, from Bexely, OH, is an English literature major and is a DePauw.Year1 mentor, a member of DePauwCapella and an S Center consultant.  During her four years she has been very involved with the University newspaper, The DePauw, serving as Editor-in-Chief first semester her senior year. Not only hasshe interned with the Obama campaign, but she also worked as a general reporter at the Huntington Herald-Dispatch in Huntington, WV in the summer of 2007 and as a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund intern at the Global Edit Desk of the Wall Street Journal in South Brunswick, NJ in the summer of 2008. In the month following her college graduation, Geldis is planning to travel in India before moving to New York City. She has described her opportunities from Media Fellows as “once-in-a-lifetime,” and plans to take what she has learned to New York to find a copy editing position and she is also open to trying public relations.
