Creating an Assessment


There are two types of assessments that you can choose. If you want to test your students, create a Test. If you want to poll your students so their answers are submitted anonymously, create a Survey.

To create an assessment:

1. Click Control Panel (Both tests and surveys are setup in a similar manner. This example will walk you through setting up a test.)

2. Click Test Manager

3. Click Add Test

4. Enter the following information

a. Name

b. Description

c. Instructions

5. Click Submit

6. At the Test Canvas screen

a. To set special options, click Creation Settings

i. Select the options you want to include by clicking on the appropriate box to place a check mark in it for each of the following settings:

A.. Feedback

B. Images, Files, and External Links

C. Question Metadata

D. Scoring

E. Display

ii. Click Submit, then OK

b. To select the type of question you want to add

i. Click the drop-down arrow for the question box

ii. Select the type of question you want to add

iii. Click Go

iv. Complete the requested information on the Add/Modify screen

v. Click Submit

vi. Repeat the above steps until you have added all the questions to the test

7. After you have verified the accuracy of the test, you need to place it in a content area for your students to be able to take it. For step-by-step instructions on how to do this, go to Adding an Assessment to a Content Area.
