Mozilla Firefox
Firefox is a free open source web browser. This manual will help you make the most of your Firefox experience by explaining how to use some of the new and exciting features that Firefox has to offer
Tabbed Browsing
Tabbed browsing allows you to opening many different web pages within a single browser window. This keeps your computer less cluttered with windows.
In order to open a new tab simply press Ctrl+T or select File > New Tab. You will see a new tab on the top of the toolbar.

If you want to go back to a previous tab, Firefox 2 Features for example, simply click on the grey tab or press Ctrl + Tab to switch between different tabs.
Tabbed browsing also gives you the option of reopening previous tabs if you wish to restore a tab that you accidentally closed, instead of having to type in the website address again.
You can restore any tab by selecting History > Recently Closed Tabs. This option allows you to select from a list of previously closed tabs.
RSS feeds (really simple syndication)
RSS feeds are essentially text based updates. Instead of having to constantly view your favorite web pages several times a day Firefox gives you the option to view news feeds directly through the browser.
To subscribe to an RSS feed simply click on the RSS feed
button. Keep in mind that most of the
sites that have RSS enabled will be sites that are frequently updated.

The RSS button is an orange icon found next to the website
address. After clicking the button another
window will pop up asking if you wish to add that website to the Bookmarks
Toolbar Folder. Click okay. Congratulations you have successfully
subscribed to an RSS feed.
To view the RSS feed simply look for the RSS feed on the Bookmarks toolbar.
You can see that the CNN bookmark gives an RSS feed of newly updated news stories right off the Firefox browser. This saves a lot of time and also gives a quick update when you don’t have a lot of time to check up on your favorite websites.
If you wish to see an article in more depth simply click on the news story that you are interested in and it will automatically open CNN with the appropriate article.

RSS feeds obviously take a little time to get used to, but you will find that RSS saves a lot of time and always keeps you up to date.
