Once the text is on the document you can click and drag accordingly so that the text is displayed in a desirable manner.

Add a Graphic to the Document

  • Open the document you want to add a graphic to and click on File > Place.
  • As with adding text, find the file that you wish to import into the document.
  • Click on open and the graphic will be added to the document.

Rearranging the Graphic

Once the graphic has been added to the document there are several tools that can change the way that the graphic appears.

·         Click on the selection tool, which is the top left tool on the tool bar.

·         To move the object around on the canvas just click and drag the graphic.

  • In order to change the size of the graphic hold down ctrl on the key board and click and drag one of the corners of the graphic until you have the desired size.
  • Keep in mind that if you do not hold down control and change the size of the graphic it will start to cover part of the graphic.  In some instances you may want to change just the size of the graphic and in other instances covering the graphic by making the borders smaller is another creative technique to use while designing your document.

  • To rotate a graphic click on the rotate tool, click on the rotate tool and then click on any side of the graphic.  Move the mouse in the direction that you wish the graphic to go.  Once the graphic is in the desired position let go of the mouse.

Multiple Graphics

If there are multiple graphic on screen it may be easier to move three graphics in tandem instead of moving one at a time.  It may sound difficult, but it actually very simple to do.

  • First, click and drag the pointer so that one image is selected.
  • Then while holding down the shift key, click and drag around another image that is on the canvas.
  • Let go of the shift key and click and drag.
  • That’s it! You will see that both objects will move at the same time.

Grouping Objects

Once there are multiple objects selected and you wish to keep those objects positioned together in a permanent state objects can be grouped together.

  • On the menu bar on the top of the screen select Object > Group.

Now all of the objects will be combined as one single object.
