Adding Content
Once you have made your new pages it is time to add actual
content to the canvas
Adding Text
You can import text any text that you want onto the canvas.
On the
document window go to the menu bar, click on File > Place.
Then
choose the appropriate word or text file that you want imported into the
document.
Click
and drag anywhere on the canvas to the desired position of the text.
Text Frames
Once the text is on the document you can click and drag
accordingly so that the text is displayed in a desirable manner.
Add a Graphic to the Document
Open
the document you want to add a graphic to and click on File > Place.
As
with adding text, find the file that you wish to import into the document.
Click
on open and the graphic will be added to the document.
Rearranging the Graphic
Once the graphic has been added to the document there are
several tools that can change the way that the graphic appears.
·Click on the selection tool, which is the top
left tool on the tool bar.
·To move the object around on the canvas just
click and drag the graphic.
In
order to change the size of the graphic hold down ctrl on the key
board and click and drag one of the corners of the graphic until you have
the desired size.
Keep
in mind that if you do not hold down control and change the size of the
graphic it will start to cover part of the graphic. In some instances you may want to change
just the size of the graphic and in other instances covering the graphic
by making the borders smaller is another creative technique to use while
designing your document.
To
rotate a graphic click on the rotate tool, click on the rotate tool and
then click on any side of the graphic. Move the mouse in the direction that you wish the graphic to
go. Once the graphic is in the
desired position let go of the mouse.
Multiple Graphics
If there are multiple graphic on
screen it may be easier to move three graphics in tandem instead of
moving one at a time. It may sound
difficult, but it actually very simple to do.
First,
click and drag the pointer so that one image is selected.
Then
while holding down the shift key, click and drag around another image that
is on the canvas.
Let go
of the shift key and click and drag.
That’s
it! You will see that both objects will move at the same time.
Grouping Objects
Once there are multiple objects
selected and you wish to keep those objects positioned together in a permanent
state objects can be grouped together.
On the
menu bar on the top of the screen select Object > Group.
Now all of the objects will be
combined as one single object.
