Changing colors of selected items

Fireworks

  1. Select the item you wish to change. The Properties inspector will show various options.
  2. To change the color of the item, click on the color swatch and select a color from the palette that appears. (A white swatch with a red slash through it means that no color is selected.)

  4. You can also fill the selection with patterns or a gradient. These can be selected from the drop down menu next to the color swatch in the Properties inspector.

Photoshop

Photoshop offers a variety of ways to change the color of objects. You can use the Color, Swatches, and Styles windows.

 

Color window

  1. Once you’ve selected the item you wish to change, make sure the Color window is visible on the right side of the screen. From here you can choose a solid color two ways.

    1. Adjust the Red/Green/Blue sliders to choose a customized color.
    2. Click on the Color swatch that is in the foreground of the window. In the window that appears, use the slider to the right to choose the hue that appears. Once you’ve chosen the general hue, you can use your pointer to choose the exact tone you want.

 

Swatches window

  1. Make sure the Swatches window is visible on the right side of your screen

  1. Simply click on the swatch you wish to use.

 

Styles window

  1. Make sure the Styles window is visible on the right side of your screen.

  1. Choose the pattern you wish to use and click on it.
