STAGE:

  • The Stage is where the Flash movie is diplayed.
  • All the graphic elements that make up a Flash movie are located one the Stage area.
  • Think of the Stage as the screen on which you will project your movie.
  • Control the Stage area with the Movie Proporties dialog box.

WORK  AREA:

  • The Work Area extends beyond the Stage
  • The Work Area remains outside the visible frame of the final movie.

LAYER CONTROLS:

  • Use Layers to control and rearrange the way items stack up on the Stage.
  • Think of Layers as clear sheets of stackable acetate paper.
  • Use Layers to prevent items from interacting with one another.

TOOLBOX:

  • Choose Window...Tools to access the Toolbox.
  • The Toolbox contains tools for drawing, editing and adjusting graphics.
  • Many tools contain context-sensitive options located at the bottom of the Toolbox.
  • Create artwork for your Flash movies using the drawing and painting tools.
  • Draw lines, rectangles and ovals.

TIMELINE:

The Timeline represents and controls each scene, frame and layer that make up a movie. Frames appear in chronological order.

These frames organize and control the content of a movie over time in layers and frames, which is similar to an interactive outline that represents each frame of your movie.

  • Frame: Smallest unit of change in an object or symbol.
  • Keyframe: A frame that holds new content; defines a significant change to a character or an object.
