Renaming Clips

Once you have imported the video clips you would like to use, and they are on the storage shelf, you can rename them. The default names are Clip1, Clip2, etc.
To rename your clips:
1.
 Double click the clip.
2.
 Type in the name you would like to use.

 

Adding Clips to the Movie Timeline

Once you are finished importing, your clips will appear in the storage shelf on the right side of the iMovie screen. You are now ready to use these clips to begin creating your movie.
You must now copy the clips that you would like to use from the storage shelf to your movie timeline.
1.
 Click on each clip in the storage shelf

 Drag the clip into the movie timeline

 Drop it either at the beginning of the timeline or to the right of the preceding clip.
  You can arrange your clips in the order you would like them to appear in your movie. They do not need to appear in the order you imported them.
  If you would like to change the order of the clips once you have arranged them in the timeline, click and drag the clip to wherever you would like it to be placed.
  You can drag clips around the timeline as much as you wish.
  To delete a clip from the timeline, click on it to select it and press Delete on the keyboard.
