Extracting Audio From Imported Footage

If the footage you have imported has sound, and you are hearing static when playing your clip, follow the instructions below.

1. Verify that you are in Movie/Audio mode (see below.)

2. Extract audio.

• Go to the Advanced menu, choose Extract Audio.

  Your audio will be extracted from your footage and added onto Audio Track 1 of the movie timeline (see below.)

3. Edit audio.

• If you wish to keep the original audio associated with your footage, do not do anything more with it. (You can add additional audio (music, narration, etc.) later to Audio Track 2.)
• If you wish to delete the audio associated with your footage completely, highlight the audio clip by clicking on it once and press Delete.
