Inserting Audio from a File

Note: All audio imported into iMovie must be in MP3 or AIFF format.

1. Insert the audio clip into your movie.

• Go to the File menu, choose Import File.
• An “Import File” window will appear.

• Select the music file you want to import. To do this, click the double arrow below “Import File” at the top of the box, and browse to find the location of the file.
• Click Open. The clip will then be placed on Audio Track 2 in the movie timeline (see below.)

2. Select where you would like the audio clip to start in the movie.

• Click and drag the audio clip anywhere within Audio Track 2 so that it corresponds with the correct section of video above it.
