Recording Your Own Audio

1. Click Audio from the Media palette.

2. Select where you would like the audio clip to start in your movie.

• Place the Playhead in the movie timeline at the point where you would like to start recording (see below.)

3. Record the audio.

• Click the Record button (gray circle with a red dot) to begin recording audio (see right.) When the computer has begun recording, this button will change to a red circle with a gray dot .

• The iMac has a built-in microphone however it is suggested that you hook up a separate microphone for better quality. Speak clearly and loudly, but do not shout. While you are speaking, the volume bar to the left of the record button will move as you speak (see right.). We also have an audio carol if needed.
• Click the Stop button to stop recording.
• The audio clip appears as a purple bar in Audio Track 1 of the movie timeline (see below.)
