Exporting from iMovie to DVD
1. Make sure your project is saved.
- Go to the File menu, choose Save Project.
2. Export your movie to QuickTime format.
- Go to the File menu, choose Export Movie.

- In the “Export Movie” box, choose: Export: For iDVD. (Default is exported to camera.) To do this, click the double arrows at the right of the Export box.

3. Save the movie and begin exporting.
- A window will appear that allows you to save your file. This file is distinct from the file with which you have been working. In the “Save As” dialog box, give your completed project a name. This name can be the same as your current file name or you may choose something different.

- Save your file in the Save here (external drive) folder on the Desktop and in your personal folder that you created when you began your project. You might create a new folder for your completed project. To do this simply choose New Folder and name the folder accordingly. When you have finished this, click Save.
4. Create the DVD.
- Open iDVD.
- Click Burn twice to begin burning your movie.

- A box will appear asking you to insert a DVD-R into the CD/DVD drive, and the drive will also pop open.
- Insert your DVD-R into the drive. You will need to burn to a DVD-R v2.0 only. (You can buy this DVD from IMS in the library across the hall from FITS.)
- Close the CD/DVD drive by pressing the arrow button in the top right corner of the keyboard.
Your movie will then start to burn onto the DVD. Keep in mind that creating your DVD may take quite a bit longer than the actual length of your movie.
