Creating a site

  1. Open iWeb.
  2. Your template options appear in front of you. Pick whichever style you like and begin by selecting the pre-designed Welcome page.
  3. To change the text, double click on the text placeholder and type in your own information.
  4. To add your own picture or movies, click the “Media” button in the bottom right of the window.
  5. Select a photo and drag it over the picture placeholder to add it to your webpage.
  6. Click the “Add” button (plus sign) in the bottom left corner to select another page for your website. Customize that page using these same instructions.

Adding Navigation

  1. Each additional page you add is automatically linked back to the index (Welcome page) for you.
  2. If you want to add your own links, begin by clicking the “Inspector” button in the bottom right of the window.
  3. Select the text or picture that you want to link.
  4. Click the “link” icon at the top of the Inspector window.
  5. Check the “Enable as hyperlink” box.
  6. Select what the link leads to.
    1. “One of my Pages” allows you to choose another page of your website.
    2. “An External Page” requires a URL to an outside website.
    3. “A File” allows you to select a PDF for upload.
    4. “An Email Message” creates a link for sending emails.

  2. iWeb uploads your website and gives you the option of viewing it directly.
  3. OR, go to “File,” “Publish to a folder” and type in the name of the server for upload.
