Don’t let yourself be an easy target for laptop theft!

While the CyberCats were able to save the day this time, you may not be so lucky.  Prevent your laptop from being stolen by locking it down with a cable lock when not in use.  Write down your laptop's serial number and keep it in a safe place, and consider etching your contact information on the back of your machine just in case.
Follow these easy steps to prevent theft!

  • When on the move, keep your belongings in sight and never leave your laptop unattended.
  • Try not to leave your laptop in a vehicle. If you must, ensure it’s in the trunk or covered up – not in plain view.
  • Don’t leave a meeting or class room without your laptop. Keep it in sight!
  • Lock your laptop in your room during off-hours.  Or put the laptop in a locked closet or cabinet.
  • Utilize Kensington style cable and lock for your laptop when left unattended.

Stop by our tables in the Hub on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 11:00am-1:30pm to register your laptop’s serial number for a chance to win an external hard drive!

Sincerely,
