Cyber Security and Society, Almost every person in this world is reliant on technology at some level. They use technology to connect to other people, retrieve information, share information, perform computations etc… The global system of interconnected computers (the Internet) has arguably been the single most impressive invention of the 20th century. It has improved several aspects of everyday life and has brought the world to everyone’s fingertips. However, with this giant positive impact on our social well being comes a big threat. This presentation will define cyber security, explain how the Internet is being secured and the vulnerabilities of the current security measures. In addition, the presentation will go over some of the major security breaches that have occurred in the last few years and how they have affected our everyday lives. |
