Installing DyKnow Software

DyKnow runs on most Windows-based computers, as well as on Macintosh computers running Windows emulation software, such as Virtual PC or Parallels Workstation. (For students with an Apple Powerbook, Virtual PC is included in the Apple software bundle available for purchase at the Help Desk. For students with an Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro, Parallels Workstation is included in the Apple software bundle for purchase at the Help Desk. See http://www.depauw.edu/univ/laptop/software.asp for details.)

You will need to download version 5.1 of DyKnow if you have an earlier version already installed on your computer.

DePauw-specific installation instructions:

IMPORTANT NOTE:  DyKnow requires the Microsoft .NET Framework version 2.0 in order to run.  If the installer detects that you do not have this software installed, it will lead you through the process of downloading and installing this software using a file named dotnetfx.exe.  This process may take several minutes (be patient!).  In addition, when the installation of the .NET Framework completes your computer may reboot.  If you run the DyKnow installer a second time, it should carry through to completion.
