Metered Printing on Campus (Pcounter)

In an effort to curb printing waste as well as aid the recycling effort, DePauw has implemented the Pcounter print-metering system for all public printers, including labs, libraries, and residence halls.  First, please note that faculty office and departmental printers will not be connected to the system, nor will students' personal printers. This program is for computer printing only – not copy machines .

How the system works:

Windows Users: You must be logged into Novell (Get Novell client)

Mac Users: You must be logged into PrintAccess (Get PrintAccess)

You will be charged when printing on all public printers. Please note: you will not be prompted before you print. You can always view your printer balance by going to the Printer Account Balance page.

Printing costs:

All students will be given a set amount of “free” print units per semester. First, second, and third year students will receive 400 print units per semester. Fourth year students will receive 500 print units per semester to accommodate the additional demands placed on graduating Seniors. First semester units will be placed in accounts and be available for use on opening day of each academic year. Second semester units will be placed in accounts on the first day of Winter Term. Any unused first semester units will transfer to second semester. Unused units will be forfeited on May 31 of each year.   You can add more money to your account at the ID/One Card Office in the Union Building , or at any of the University Librar y service desks.

Important notes:

•  Cash deposits only

•  Deposits must be $1 increments

•  No refunds available

•  TigerMeal Plan points may not be transferred or used as payment

•  Accounts are cleared yearly on May 31. Any unit balance will be forfeited on that date.
