Element K

Element K ( http://www.elementk.com ) is a web-based resource providing online computer training and help for a variety of software & tools. Its online training solutions include collaborative, instructor-facilitated online courses and a comprehensive reference library, as well as the self-paced tutorials.

Students and faculty members might find it useful to learn new computing skills or brush up on rusty ones. Element K offers a reliable resource to access whenever assignments or projects require specialized computing tools.

To use Element K:

Any DePauw faculty member, student or staff member can set up an Element K account free of charge:

  1. You will need an access key in order to access online courses. To obtain a DePauw Access Key, click this link. - Email (GroupWise/Tigermail) login required
  2. Once you receive your access key, please review the Getting Started guide (PDF 134KB) before beginning to access your Element K account.
  3. Enrolling on Element K for the first time using an Access Key
    1. Open your browser and type www.elementk.com in the address or location bar at the top of the screen. Click Go or press [Enter] on your keyboard.
    2. Click on the [Student Enrollment] link ,located on the upper-right section of the page.
    3. On the next page, enter the [access key] obtained in Step 1 above and click Send.
      (Be sure to include the dashes. Access keys are case-sensitive; any text must be entered in exactly as displayed.)
    4. Enter your personal information , including a username and password. (The username and password are case-sensitive.) All fields marked with an asterisk are required fields and must be filled in.
    5. After completing the form, click [Submit] to complete the enrollment process.
    6. You are now successfully enrolled in Element K! You may now use your username and password to log in anytime, anywhere.
