Create Network Alias Icons for Macintosh OS X

** THESE NETWORK ALIASES HAVE BEEN TESTED WITH TIGER (OS X 10.4) AND LEOPARD (OS X 10.5) **

To create network aliases that you can use to access network drives (P:\ , I:\ and U:\):

1. Download the installer file to your computer: Network_Drives.dmg (10MB, self-extracting)

2. From the Network_Drive_Installs Window, double-click the installer file for the desired drive:

Network drive descriptions:
Students
Faculty
Staff
P: Drive Your personal network drive

I: Drive

Shared network drive for courses
U: Drive Shared network drive for departments
n/a

3. Drag the drive icons that you need to the desktop:

4. The Network Alias Icon is installed and will display in the Dock.

5. To access a network drive, Click the icon:

At the login window, enter your Novell username & password and click Connect

If you receive an error when attempting to log in, try using the full context. Examples of full context:

.studentusername_2013.2013.student.user.depauw
  (if your graduation year is different, just make the first part of the full context match this year)
.facultyusername.faculty.depauw
.staffusername.staff.depauw
