Creating and saving a new document

Opening a new document

  1. Choose File -> New from the menu bar.
  2. Choose the desired options from the pop up window.
    1. Fireworks: size, resolution, and canvas color

    1. Photoshop: name, size, canvas color, color mode

A blank canvas fitting your specified options will appear.

Saving a document

  1. In the menu bar choose File -> Save As.
  2. Name your file.
  3. Click the Save button.
  4. If you wish to save after you have used the Save As option, choose File -> Save.

If you want to save for the web page,

1. Choose File.
2. Choose Save For Web.
3. Choose the format or extension you want (preferably .gif or .jpg)
4. Click Save.
