How to add drop shadow in Macromedia Fireworks 8:

  1. Select the object you wish to give a shadow.
  2. In the Properties inspector at the bottom of the screen, click the Add Filter (+) button.

  1. Select Shadow and Glow> Drop Shadow from the menu .

  1. The drop shadow properties box appears.

    2. The default values for the shadow properties are Distance: 7pixels, Opacity: 65%, Radius: 4 pixels, Angle: 315 degrees and Color: black.

    For a soft shadow effect, set Distance at 2 pixels and Softness at 5 pixels.
    For a crisp shadow effect, set Distance at 3 pixels and Softness at 4 pixels.
