Use an FTP program to copy files to the web folder
*Works from both on- and off-campus computers
FTP Settings:
You can use FTP software to copy your files to your P: drive folder. (You can download WsFTP for Windows or Fetch for Macintosh for free at the Helpdesk Downloads Page).
FTP connection settings for the P: drive:
Host Name / Address:
novellftp.depauw.edu
Host Type: UNIX (standard)
Username: Same as your Novell account.
Be sure to use your full account name, including the preceding period "." For example:.jdoe.student.depauw OR
.jdoe.faculty.depauwPassword: Same as your Novell account
Startup Tab: 'Initial Remote Site Folder' should be blank

Once you have successfully connected to your P: drive, you are ready to copy files:
Copying your files with FTP
- Select the file, files or folder on your local system (c: or p:) that you wish to copy. (Hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files)
- Open the 'public_html' folder on the Remote Site.
- Select the transfer mode (ASCII for HTML files and Binary for image files)
- Transfer the files using the appropriate arrow button located between the boxes to copy the file(s).
- Once the transfer is complete you can view your files on the web at http://acad.depauw.edu/~username/filename.
