FTP Access for P: Drive

Use an FTP program to copy files to the web folder
*Works from both on- and off-campus computers

FTP Settings:

You can use FTP software to copy your files to your P: drive folder. (You can download WsFTP for Windows or Fetch for Macintosh for free at the Helpdesk Downloads Page).

FTP connection settings for the P: drive:

Host Name / Address:

novellftp.depauw.edu

Host Type: UNIX (standard)

Username: Same as your Novell account.
Be sure to use your full account name, including the preceding period "." For example:

.jdoe.student.depauw OR
.jdoe.faculty.depauw

PasswordSame as your Novell account

Startup Tab: 'Initial Remote Site Folder' should be blank



Copying your files with FTP

Once you have successfully connected to your P: drive, you are ready to copy files:
  1. Select the file, files or folder on your local system (c: or p:) that you wish to copy.  (Hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files)
  2. Open the 'public_html' folder on the Remote Site.
  3. Select the transfer mode (ASCII for HTML files and Binary for image files) 
  4. Transfer the files using the appropriate arrow button located between the boxes to copy the file(s).
  5. Once the transfer is complete you can view your files on the web at http://acad.depauw.edu/~username/filename.
