This ongoing project is designed to assist students taking course work in media studies to make use of various technologies (e.g., audio, video, graphics, weblogs, etc.) in the completion of a variety of assignments. For instance, last year, students produced a number of public service announcements (PSAs) around the issue of media reform. In addition to traditional research into their topics, students learned the value of collaborative work and produced assignments that had relevance well beyond the classroom. In sum, the project is relevant to the study of new media in general and it will help students acquire a new skills set related communication and information technologies. |
